Shoutout to the old painter in Fresno who told me to stop chasing every blend
About 4 years ago I was doing a rear quarter respray on a silver Camry and I could not get the blend to disappear on the back door. I kept going wider with base until half the door was covered. The painter next to me, he was 68 and had been at it since the 70s, took one look and said "you're spraying too much, not too little." I cut my overlap down and opened up my fan a little, and the blend went away in about 10 minutes after an hour of fighting it. He passed away 2 years back, but that one line has saved me more time than any class I've taken since. Curious what piece of advice from an old hand stuck with you the longest?
