Spent $200 on a new spray gun and the clearcoat fish-eyed on me Tuesday
I picked up a new Devilbiss gun last week, figured I'd treat myself. Got it all dialed in, mixed my clear just right, and BAM - fish eyes all over the hood of a 2017 Civic. Turns out I didn't degrease the gun from the factory oil. Had to sand the whole thing down and start over. That was a fun 3 hours. Anyone else ever forget the simple stuff like that and pay for it?

Wait wait, they ship those things caked in oil and nobody thinks to mention it? That's wild, you'd think for $200 they'd at least put a sticky note on the box.

Right, but the real question is who's the one person in quality control who decided this was fine and nobody else questioned it? Like, was it a group consensus or did one guy just shrug and say "they'll figure it out"? I'm imagining the warehouse workers trying to load these things onto trucks covered in grease and nobody in management thinks to put a rag down. Or better yet, is there some poor customer service rep who has to field the first fifty calls before someone finally updates the product page?
