Warning: a kid at the shop asked why I still block sand by hand, and his reason made me stop and think
Last week a new guy at our shop in Toledo watched me block out a door by hand and asked why I don't just run the DA over it, since that's all he ever saw at his last shop. I told him how a DA can dish out a panel and how you feel the low spots through the block, and he goes quiet for a second, then says nobody ever showed him that. Made me wonder how much of the old way is getting lost now that everything is speed and production, so what hand skills did you have to learn the hard way that nobody teaches anymore?
