Warning: That advice about using oven cleaner on aluminum trim? Just not true.
My buddy swore it'd save me $80 on a 2015 F-150 in Des Moines, but after two applications and a ruined trim piece, I'm asking: has anyone else had that trick backfire, or did I just mess up the process?

Mary Patel, $80 down the drain PLUS a ruined trim piece sounds like a REAL GOOD deal. My neighbor tried the same oven cleaner trick on his old Chevy and ended up with a chrome-look that screamed "I gave up and painted it with a Sharpie." Guess we both learned the hard way that shortcuts just cost more in the end.
