Heard a customer at the O'Reilly's in Springfield say their car 'just needed a new soul'
They were dead serious about their 2008 Civic needing a 'soul transplant' after the third alternator this year. My guy Tony at the counter just nodded and sold them the part, lol. What's the wildest thing you've heard someone blame their car problems on?

Ever have someone blame the planets? Lady at my old shop swore her minivan's electrical issues were from Mercury being in retrograde. She wanted us to "check the wiring when the stars aligned better." We just said sure and fixed the bad ground. People get attached to weird ideas when their car acts up.

Honestly used to think that stuff was just silly... but after seeing @shanejackson talk about parts having a "soul" and river_reed's star lady, maybe people just need a story to make sense of the chaos. Cars are weird machines, and sometimes the explanation feels as random as the problem. Guess it doesn't hurt to play along if it gets the car fixed.

Ever get a car that just hates a certain part, like @river_reed's electrical case? Sometimes you just swap the brand, not the "soul," and it finally works.
