Pro tip: put a dab of dielectric grease on coax pins before you seat them

Spent 3 hours chasing an intermittent VOR drop on a 172 last Tuesday, and it was just a corroded BNC pin that a tiny smear of grease would have stopped before it ever started, anyone else do this on harness installs or am I the only one?

Grease just traps dirt and makes the pin harder to get a good bite on. That chemical corrosion issue is real, but a clean dry pin with a proper seat is way more reliable in my book.
