Shoutout to the avionics bay at KAPA this weekend
I was out at Centennial Airport (KAPA) last Saturday helping a buddy pull an old KX-155 out of his Piper Archer. The avionics bay on that plane was an absolute disaster, like a spaghetti mess of wires everywhere. We spent almost 4 hours just tracing and labeling everything before we could even touch the radio. It made me realize how much I appreciate the guys who take the time to do clean harness work from the start. Anybody else run into a plane where the previous guy just gave up on wire management?

Oh man, that spaghetti mess is the worst. Honestly, I've seen a Cessna 182 where the PO just used zip ties to bundle everything into one giant wad and then shoved it under the panel. Took us a full day just to figure out what was what. It makes you appreciate a clean harness so much more when you see the alternative. Ngl, I always try to leave a little tag or color code my own work now because I know how much it sucks for the next guy. A few extra minutes upfront saves hours of headache later, especially if you're in the field and not in a shop.
