Shoutout to the Fluke 87V for proving me wrong on a stubborn autopilot issue

I always thought our old shop's Fluke 87V was overkill for most line checks, preferring a simpler meter. Last month on a Citation in Tampa, we had a pitch trim fault that wouldn't clear. After hours of chasing, I used the 87V's min/max record on a suspect servo wire and caught a 0.3-volt drop the other meter missed. That convinced me its extra functions are worth the cost for intermittent faults. What other 'overkill' tools have you guys found are actually essential for certain jobs?

Honestly I used to give my coworker so much crap for bringing his thermal camera on every call. Tbh I called it his ghost hunting gear until we had a weird breaker heating up only under full load. That little screen showed the exact spot going yellow while everything else looked fine. Felt pretty dumb after that, now I keep one in my own bag.
