My neighbor's fence gate opened out and dumped a wheelbarrow load of gravel on my foot
I was helping Dave from two doors down pour a new gravel pad for his shed last Saturday. His gate swings outward toward the alley, and when I pushed the wheelbarrow through it, the gate caught the handles and tipped the whole load right onto my left foot. Nothing broke, but I've now built every gate I hang to swing inward and added a chain latch to stop it from moving. Anyone else get hurt by a small design choice that you never thought about until it bit you?
That happened to my uncle Ron with a screen door that swung out toward the porch steps. He ended up flipping the hinges so it opened in and put one of those cheap hook latches up top so it couldnt swing free. Took him like 20 minutes and he never got clipped again.
