Hit my first 100 eggs from my new flock and it hit different than I expected

I started with 4 hens back in March and yesterday I cracked open egg number 100. I knew the math going in (roughly 4-5 eggs a day, so about 20-25 days) but seeing that actual number on my tally sheet made me realize how much these little dinosaurs produce. Plus my neighbor's kid asked if we could sell him a dozen for his mom's birthday and I felt like a legit farmer for a minute. Anyone else keep a running egg count or am I just weird about this?

and honestly, how did that tally sheet feel in your hand when you wrote down 100? I bet it gave you a little moment of pride, right? I started keeping a simple count on a calendar and it made each egg feel like a little win instead of just another chore.

Oh man @karen_nelson40 you totally nailed it, that little tally sheet felt like solid proof I was actually getting somewhere instead of just going through the motions. It's wild how seeing those numbers stack up turns the whole thing into a game, like each egg is its own tiny victory lap. I started doing the same with a simple notebook and now I almost look forward to marking it off.
