Vent: I thought my backyard was dark until I checked a light pollution map from 2015

I pulled up the old light pollution map for my zip code in Ohio and found out my backyard rates a Bortle 7, which means I can barely see the Milky Way on a good night. Back when I was a kid in the 90s, my dad could point out Andromeda from this same yard with just his eyes. Anyone else notice their home skies getting worse, or is it just me?
