Just realized I've baked over 500 sourdough loaves since 2019
I was cleaning out my baking notebook last night and counted up all my entries. 500 loaves feels like a crazy number to me, I started during the lockdown like a lot of folks. But what surprised me is that my first 50 were basically hockey pucks, my mom still jokes about the one I brought to Christmas that year. Now I can eyeball the dough temp and feel when it's ready without a timer. Has anyone else hit a weird milestone like that and looked back at how rough you started?

Wait, did you actually weigh or count every loaf or just estimate from the notebook pages? That's wild dedication either way. My buddy started making pottery during lockdown too, and she hit 400 mugs before she stopped cracking half of them in the kiln. She even brought one to my house that still had a little chip from the firing, but she was so proud of it because it was the first one that didn't leak water. Now she can throw a mug in like 10 minutes flat and barely even measures her glaze anymore. It's crazy how much we improve without even noticing until we look back at the early mess.

500 loaves is wild, I only hit 50 quilts before I got good at straight lines.
