Warning: my sourdough starter went totally flat after a power outage in Denver last month

It was out for 8 hours and the fridge temp killed the yeast. Anyone know a good way to bring a starter back from the cold?

That "killed the yeast" part is rough, but you can try feeding it with some whole grain rye flour to kickstart it.

Oh man, I gotta push back a little on the rye flour idea... it's not a magic fix for killing the yeast. If the yeast is truly dead, more rye won't bring it back, you'd just end up with dead rye starter.
