My grandma's bread recipe actually needs more salt than it says

I found the original handwritten recipe from 1962 and it calls for 1 tsp of salt, but every time I made it the bread tasted flat. Turns out modern measuring spoons are different than the old ones she used, so I doubled it and the crust came out perfect. Anybody else run into old recipe measurement weirdness?

Or just use a bigger pinch and call it a day.
