Switched to a local credit union for business accounts after 11 years with a big bank
Tbh I got tired of the monthly fees piling up on my business checking. The big bank charged $35 a month plus $0.50 per transaction after 200. Last quarter that added up to $310. So I moved everything to a credit union in Portland that caps fees at $8 and gives free transfers. First two months went smooth, but then a vendor payment got held for 5 days because their system flagged the new routing number. I had to explain to a supplier why their invoice was late. Now I keep a small buffer account at the old bank just for recurring stuff. Anyone else run into this lag when switching business accounts? Did you ever fully cut ties or do you run two accounts on purpose?
