I was bored between cuts on Tuesday and counted how many times I reached for the neck strip roll, it was 17 times in one hour. So I grabbed a cheap magnetic tool strip from the hardware store and screwed it under my station shelf to hold the metal dispenser. Now the roll is always within reach and I'm not twisting sideways mid-cut. Any other barbers got weird little station hacks that save you from wrecking your shoulder?
Mounted mine under the shelf too but the game changer was adding a small hook next to it for the cape clips. Hear me out, the neck strip thing is really about your body remembering where things are without looking. Every time you have to search or reach you're breaking your focus and your flow on the cut. Fix the setup so your hands just know where to go and your shoulders will thank you at the end of a ten hour day.
