I set aside 4 slots every Monday morning for regulars at 9, 10, 11, and noon, and I filled all 4 within 2 days, which got me wondering how other shops handle recurring bookings without crowding out walk ins?
What happens when one of those regulars needs to move their slot at the last minute? You have a hole in a prime spot that a walk in could have grabbed if you had not locked it down six weeks back. The trick some shops use is booking regulars on a rolling basis instead of a fixed block, so the chair never sits empty but you are not promising the same four hours over and over. Do you take a deposit or have any kind of no show rule for those slots, or does everyone just show up because they know you? I would worry that the regulars start treating those hours like a lease they own and get bent out of shape when you need one back.
