Vent: Bought a fancy new clipper that just sits in my drawer
I dropped about $350 on a high-end cordless clipper set six months ago, thinking it would be a game changer. The battery life is great, but the motor is way too loud and it vibrates so much my hand goes numb after a few fades. I keep going back to my old, cheaper corded ones for most cuts. Has anyone else had a tool that looked good on paper but just didn't work for you in the shop?

My buddy's fancy impact driver did the same thing.

Yeah, "fancy impact driver" reminds me of my friend who bought a top brand one that stripped every screw head on a deck project. He ended up borrowing a basic model to finish the job, which seems to line up with what you're saying, @fisher.mary. Sometimes the expensive gear just doesn't live up to the hype.

Wait, @fisher.mary, it stripped every single screw?
