Why does nobody talk about buying a second set of clippers as a backup

My main clippers died mid haircut last Tuesday with a line of 4 guys waiting, and I had to finish the fade with a trimmer and a lot of apologies. Dropped $180 the next day on a spare set to keep in the drawer, and it already saved me twice this week. Is it just me or does everyone learn this the hard way before they finally buy a backup?
