That dollar store magnet trick got me a whole tool set
I always passed on those cheap magnetic pickup wands at Dollar Tree, figured they were junk. But my buddy Ray, who runs a scrapyard in Toledo, told me he uses them to find sockets in the mud when his good ones break. I grabbed two for $1.25 each last month and honestly pulled like 40 screws out of a carpet in my rental, stuff I'd normally walk over. Has anyone else found a surprisingly solid use for those flimsy dollar store tools?

Ray's onto something there. Those wands are perfect for reaching under the stove or fridge without crawling around, I use mine to fish out lost screws and coins from tight spots all the time. Might grab a couple more next time I'm in the store just to keep one in the car.
