Old bike shop vs new shop tool standards
Helped a buddy at his newer shop last month in Austin. They use those digital torque wrenches that beep at you. Back at my old place we just had Park Tool beam wrenches and felt when it was tight. Found three bolts he overtightened on a carbon frame because he trusted the beep too much. Anyone else prefer the feel of a beam wrench over digital stuff?

Can't believe he put three bolts on a carbon frame with a beeping torque wrench.

Those beeping torque wrenches are usually just preset click-type wrenches with a buzzer slapped on... they're not actually digital or anything fancy. He probably just set it to the right spec and went to town.
