Unpopular opinion: most 'life fail' stories are just people doing stuff they never practiced first
I fix things for a living, mostly around houses, and the pattern I see over and over is somebody trying a repair, a recipe, or a hobby project on the one day it has to work. My neighbor flooded his kitchen last month because he tried to swap a shutoff valve for the first time on a Saturday with a house full of people. The fail is not that he tried, it is that he skipped the practice run on the shutoff in the yard. Do you all test new stuff on something that does not matter first, or just go for it and hope?
