Hot take: Binging whole seasons kills the watercooler chat
Used to be you'd watch one episode a week and discuss it at work. Now everyone finishes at different times, so no shared experience. It's just not the same.

Binging means I finish shows before my friends even start. My excitement dies alone since I have no self-control. Now my watercooler chats are just me spoiling things by accident.

Come on, is it really that serious? Your friends have their own stuff to watch anyway. Just say you've seen it and skip the spoiler talk. It's not like you're wrecking their whole day. We all binge sometimes, no need to make it a drama.

Yeah, it goes beyond just missing the chat. The whole rhythm of a show gets lost when you binge. You don't get a week to sit with a cliffhanger or guess what's next. @nora311 is right that it's not the end of the world, but the shared weekly wait built a different kind of hype. Now the story just becomes content to finish, not an event to look forward to with other people.
