Always check if a series is finished before starting, unless you like being left hanging?

Man, is it really that big of a deal... I've started plenty of shows that got axed. Sometimes the unfinished story is better than a rushed or terrible ending. People still complain about how Game of Thrones finished, and that one had all the time in the world.

Remember that sci-fi series that got cut after one season? I actually liked the mystery it left behind, kind of what @james_barnes is getting at. Now I just make up my own endings for those unfinished stories.

And bad ones ruin any rewatch, so maybe getting cut was a mercy.
