My projector bulb blew out right before the finale of Severance

It happened last night, about five minutes into the last episode, with a loud pop and a puff of smoke. I ended up watching the rest of the season's climax on my laptop screen, which felt like a huge downgrade. Anyone have a reliable brand for replacement bulbs that won't die at the worst possible moment?

Oh man, that "loud pop and a puff of smoke" is the worst feeling. I had a generic bulb do that to me and switched to Philips brand. It cost a bit more but has lasted over two years now with no drama. Definitely worth the extra money for the peace of mind.

Yeah, that full cool down cycle is everything.

Listen to craig.tessa about Philips bulbs. I bought a cheap one online and it lasted maybe three months before doing the exact same pop and smoke thing. The real trick is to never turn the projector off right after you use it. Let the fan run its full cool down cycle every single time. Heat kills those bulbs faster than anything. A good bulb plus proper care is the only way to avoid that awful laptop finale situation.
