That 'skip intro' habit is ruining first episodes for me

My friend in Philly said she always skips the intro to get to the plot faster, and I called her crazy. Shows like Severance and The Bear use those credits to set the mood, and I caught myself missing tiny details like the music shift or the color palette. How are you supposed to know if a show's worth binging if you don't sit through the cold open and the theme song? Does anyone else actually watch intros on purpose, or am I just weird about this?

Guilty as charged, I used to skip every intro until I missed the entire backstory of a character in the opening sequence and had to rewatch it. Now I sit through them like a hostage, just in case I miss something important.
