Hit 5000 hammer strikes in one session and my arm is telling me about it
I was finishing a batch of 12 leaf hooks for a local fence guy and decided to count my strikes just for fun. Came out to about 5100 by the time I shut the forge down around 9pm. I mean, I knew I swung a lot but seeing that number put things in perspective, especially since I usually stop at 3000 or so. My elbow is pretty sore today, but the rhythm was almost meditative once I passed 4000. Anyone else keep a rough count of strikes during a big run, or am I just weird like that?

Used to think counting your swings was some kinda macho numbers game people just bragged about online. Honestly figured nobody actually kept track past a rough guess. But seeing your breakdown, especially that meditative bit after 4000, kinda flips my view on it. There's something about hitting a big repeating number like that that just locks you into the work, like your brain finally shuts up and lets your body take over. I still don't count mine, but I get why you do now. That elbow soreness is real though, hope you got some ice on it today.
