Swapped my coal forge for gas, old timer was right after all

I fought it for two years, swore coal gave better heat control on leaf springs. Then I tried a friend's gas forge at his shop in Spokane and the consistency blew me away, no more babysitting the fire for twenty minutes. Anyone else make the switch late and wonder why they waited?
