Been swinging a 2.5 lb cross peen since I started at my uncle's shop outside Boise. Last month I noticed my nail sets kept slipping and the steel was peening weird on one side. Turns out the face was ground about 4 degrees off from the handle line, probably from my early days of bad technique. I spent a whole Saturday with a belt grinder and a flat file, checking with a square every few passes. Has anyone else dealt with a hammer face that's subtly off, or am I the only one who ignored it for that long?
