My board game group's rulebook debate got so heated we called it a 'crisis'-wait, that's a mistake
Last Thursday at my local game store in Austin, a guy flipped a table over a disagreement about whether 'unoccupied' meant empty or just not occupied by another player. The owner had to ban him for a week. Has anyone else had a rules argument go way past what the game was worth?

table flip over 'unoccupied'? that's gotta be a new record lol. my group had a similar blowup about whether a 'pass' in sushi go meant you could still pick up cards later. took us like 20 minutes and two people refusing to talk to each other. what finally worked was we agreed to house rule it for that session and then look it up after, and honestly that killed the drama way faster. now we always say 'okay we'll do it this way tonight, we can argue online tomorrow' before anyone gets too heated. saves the friendship and the game night.
