Unpopular opinion: spent 5 months trying to teach my group Catan and a guy named Dave fixed it in one night
I tried everything to get my board game group into Catan for 5 months, printing cheat sheets and running practice rounds every Friday at my place in Columbus. Then our friend Dave, who had never played before, sat down and just said 'why don't we trade like it's a real market' and suddenly everyone got it in one session. Has anyone else had a new player accidentally teach the whole table how to play?
