Took me 6 hours to figure out why my snake plant was turning yellow when the answer was right in front of me

I was going crazy trying to figure out why my snake plant was yellowing. I checked the soil moisture with a meter, moved it to different spots in the house, even repotted it. After six hours of testing and reading forums, I realized the pot had no drainage holes. I bought it from a local nursery in Austin and they never mentioned it. How long did it take you to solve a plant problem that should have been obvious from the start?

Blew an entire Sunday crying over a peace lily that looked like a wilted salad, only to discover I was watering it with tap water that had too much chlorine. Switched to filtered water and the thing perked up in two days. Felt like a real genius after that one.

My peace lily gets straight tap water and it's currently thriving so much I've had to split it three times this year. Maybe your plant is just dramatic and wanted to make you feel guilty for crying over a salad.
