Turns out I was killing my snake plant with kindness for 5 years
I used to water my snake plant every single Saturday without fail, thought I was being a good plant parent. Last month I was repotting it in my kitchen and the roots were basically mush, smelled awful. My sister looked at it and said 'you know these things like to dry out completely, right?' I felt so dumb. Has anyone else overwatered a plant for years before realizing what you were doing wrong?

Man, this hits home. Seems like every plant I've ever owned died because I gave it too much attention, not too little. We're so wired to think "more care = better" but half the time the real fix is just leaving things alone for a while. It's like that with a lot of stuff honestly, friendships, work, even leftovers in the fridge. Anyway, don't beat yourself up, at least you figured it out before you got a third one.
