Used to baby my jade plant with filtered water and misting, now I just ignore it and let it dry out completely between waterings.

Switched after I killed two perfectly good jade plants by drowning them in care over three years. Anyone else find their succulents do better when you pretend they don't exist?

You mentioned letting it "dry out completely between waterings" and I get why that works for a lot of people. But I actually found my jade plant does way better with a more consistent schedule, like watering it once every 10 to 14 days when the soil is mostly dry but not bone dry for too long. I tried the neglect method for a while and mine just dropped leaves and looked sad, like it couldn't hold onto any moisture. I think sometimes the whole "ignore your plants" thing gets a little overhyped, especially for jade plants that actually like a bit of structure if you get the drainage right. Maybe it depends on the specific plant or your climate, but mine hated being forgotten for weeks on end.

The pot material makes a big difference too. Glazed holds moisture, terracotta dries fast. Have you tried switching?
