Used to press every leaf flat in a phone book, now I let them dry in a cardboard sandwich
When I started collecting back in 2019 I was pressing everything between wax paper and stacking heavy books on top, which took 3 weeks and made a lot of my ferns go brown and brittle. Last summer a lady at the plant swap in Tulsa showed me her setup, just two pieces of cardboard with newspaper and a rubber band, and the color held so much better. Has anyone else switched to cardboard drying, and do you change the newspaper daily or just leave it alone?
