My brother in law said a $12 shower head would outlast the $80 one, and I laughed at him in his own kitchen
So my shower head died about 5 weeks after I put it in. It was one of those fancy ones with 6 spray settings, cost me $80 at a home store in Tacoma, and it started leaking from the joint in under two months. My brother in law watched me complain about it at his place and said straight up, "buy the cheap one, the plastic ones never break." I laughed at him. Told him that was the dumbest thing I heard all month. Well, the fancy one kept dripping, so I got mad and grabbed a $12 basic head from the hardware store just to have SOMETHING while I researched a replacement. That was 14 months ago. The cheap one is still on there. No leak, no drip, no settings to break off. I have now spent more on the two heads combined than I would have on just the cheap one in the first place. My brother in law brings it up at every family dinner and honestly he has earned it. Anyone else get talked into the cheap version of something and hate that it worked better?
