The $200 cord of wood that turned out to be mostly sawdust and regret
Last month I finally caved and bought a cord of "seasoned" firewood from a guy on Route 202 in Winchendon who swore it was ready to burn. Half of it was punk wood and the rest was so green my stove hissed at me like an angry cat for three days straight. I ended up burning more kindling than actual logs and my neighbor Dave just laughed and handed me a moisture meter. Anyone got a wood guy in north central Mass who won't sell me a pile of wet disappointment?
