Vent: power went out in the ice storm and my backup plan was a joke
Lost power for 31 hours in the Worcester hills last week and my little propane buddy heater barely kept one room above 50. Wound up hauling the frozen food out to the unheated mudroom and just letting it stay cold in there, which honestly worked better than I expected. Anyone else figure out a cheaper way to keep pipes from freezing without running a generator all night?

Read somewhere that you can drip a faucet on an outside wall just a tiny bit and moving water won't freeze as fast. Never tried it myself but a plumber told my neighbor the same thing. Might be worth a shot next time so you're not hauling food around in the dark.
