Heard a guy at the auto shop say he reuses his cabin air filter
I was waiting for an oil change in Akron last Tuesday and this older dude was telling the guy next to him he just taps his cabin air filter on the curb every 3,000 miles and puts it back. Said he's been doing it for 6 years across two cars and never had a smell or AC issue. My filter is due for a swap, the shop wants $32 for a new one. Is this an actual thing or just a guy who likes dusty vents? Anyone else tried cleaning instead of replacing, and how many times before it falls apart?
