Shoutout to the guy at the hardware store in Reno who talked me out of the $60 drain snake
I thought he was just trying to avoid a return, but the $3 zip strip he handed me cleared the bathroom sink in about 90 seconds. What cheap fix did a store clerk push on you that actually worked?

Zip strips are great for hair clogs but they won't do much if the trap itself is full of soap scum or the stopper linkage is gummed up. The clerk's advice was solid, just know the zip strip only grabs what's in the pipe near the drain. Still beats dropping $60 on a snake you'll use once.
