The bartender who showed me a $2 fix for my squeaky stool
Last month at a dive in Austin, this bartender heard my stool squeaking and just slid a sliced wine cork under the leg. Took two seconds, zero cost, and it stayed quiet for my whole shift. Anyone else got a random fix from a stranger that beat every YouTube tutorial you tried?
Man, here I was watching a 20 minute video on how to fix a squeaky chair with a custom 3D printed bushing and all I needed was a wine cork and a bartender who clearly gives zero about the volume of his pours. That's the kind of life hack that makes you question every subscription to a DIY channel you ever paid for. Next time my car makes a weird noise I'm just gonna hand a bottle of whiskey to a mechanic and see what happens. Probably end up with a cork in my engine and a worse problem, but at least the bar tab will be reasonable. Some folks got degrees, this guy got a wine key and common sense. Absolute legend.
