Hit $1.10 a meal for the whole week, didn't plan it
Been tracking my grocery spend for 3 months now. Last week I grabbed a 10 pound bag of potatoes for $2.50, a big pack of chicken thighs for $5, and a bag of frozen peas for $1. Made a big pot of curry Sunday night, ate it 6 nights. When I added it up, each serving came to about $1.10. I wasn't trying to hit a number, it just happened. Felt like winning a mini lottery. Anyone else accidentally beat their usual meal cost by making one big batch? What's your record low per meal?

But did you actually enjoy eating the same curry six nights in a row, or did it start feeling like a chore by Thursday? I've done the big batch thing before, and the savings go out the window if I end up ordering pizza because I'm sick of leftovers. My best was probably $1.50 a meal, but I had to freeze half of it to make it work.
