A hostel clerk in Lisbon told me to stop pre-booking every bus ticket, and my 10 day trip got $80 cheaper
I had every FlixBus leg locked in before I even landed, and she pointed out that walk-up fares and shared van rides were often half what I paid online. I tried it on the next stretch to Porto and saved about $14 on one ride alone, plus I could stay an extra day when I liked a town. Does anyone else book as they go, or is locking it all in still the safer bet for you?
