Booked the 6am bus to Portland instead of the 10am one and cut my trip cost in half
Last month I needed to get from Seattle to Portland for a friend's wedding and the mid morning ticket was $42 each way. The 6am bus was $19, so I set two alarms and dragged myself out of bed in the dark. The savings covered my whole food budget for the weekend, plus I got into town early enough to walk around before check in. The bus was actually quieter at that hour and I slept most of the ride. My one regret is not packing a real breakfast, since the station coffee cost more than my ticket savings for the day. Has anyone found a good way to make those early departures less painful?
