Rant: the dishwasher died two weeks after I paid off the credit card I bought it on
So my dishwasher quit on a Tuesday night, mid cycle, water all over the kitchen floor. I bought it 14 months ago with a store card and finally got that card paid off in June, which felt great. Now the repair guy quotes me $340 for a control board, or $520 for a new unit. I had gotten used to not having that monthly payment and now I am looking at either digging into the emergency fund or going back to washing dishes by hand for a while. We put $75 a month into a house fund so this is doable but it stings. Has this happened to anyone else, where the thing breaks right when the bill finally goes away?
