Realized my grocery budget was blown by the deli counter, not the meat aisle
For two years I swore my food bill was high because of beef prices, but last Tuesday I added up my receipts and saw I was spending $85 a month on sliced turkey and cheese alone. I was buying lunch meat at the Publix counter every week without ever checking the price per pound, sometimes $12.99 a pound for Boar's Head. Started buying a whole roast turkey breast and slicing it myself at home, and that one swap freed up about $60 a month. Anyone else find their budget leak hiding in a spot they never checked?
