Digital vs paper habit tracker, paper won after 3 weeks
I kept trying to track my water intake and reading in an app on my phone, but I kept forgetting to open it. Last month I switched to a simple habit tracker grid in my BuJo with just a checkmark box for each day. Seeing the empty squares staring at me on my morning page made a huge difference, I filled in 19 out of 21 days. Has anyone else found that the physical act of writing the check is more motivating than swiping a screen?
Did you notice the empty squares bug you more when you skip a day after a long streak? That was the real hook for me. Breaking a chain of 14 checks felt way worse than ignoring some notification badge on my phone. The app just resets and moves on, but the paper shows you the exact hole you made, and that stuck with me longer.
