The "brain dump" page finally clicked after 3 years of trying

I used to do daily logs with everything crammed into one line, tasks and thoughts mixed together. It worked but I kept missing stuff, especially those random ideas that pop up while I'm at work. Last Tuesday I started a separate weekly brain dump page, just a blank box where anything goes, no structure. Now I transfer the keepers into my daily log and let the rest go. My weekly review takes half the time it used to, about 15 minutes instead of 30. Has anyone else split their capture from their planner like this, or am I overcomplicating it?

Did you find it weird at first to have a blank page with no rules? I tried something similar a while back and the empty space actually made me nervous. But you're right, it does cut down the review time a lot. Separating the messy capture from the clean planning makes a big difference. I ended up keeping mine in a separate notebook entirely, just so I wouldn't mix them up.
