Why does nobody talk about sharpening your boning knife on the bottom of a coffee mug
Had a 20 minute chat with a retired butcher named Sal at the shop on 5th last Tuesday and he swore by flipping his mug over and running the blade on the unglazed ring when his steel wasn't handy. Tried it on my 6 inch boning knife before breaking down a pork loin this morning and it actually brought the edge back enough to finish the job. Anyone else got a weird trick like this that sounds dumb but works?
