That $200 'tactical' flashlight is now a paperweight

Bought one of those fancy multi-mode flashlights off a hype site back in 2021, figured it would be the last light I ever needed. The charging port cover snapped off in my coat pocket after three months and now it won't hold a charge past 20 minutes. My old $40 Maglite from 2009 is still kicking on the same set of D cells I put in last winter, anyone else regret chasing the newest gear instead of sticking with the boring stuff?
